Door handle fails to open without key 2006 STS

Hello,

Once again the door handles have failed to unlock the doors without using the key. Then getting into the car and opening the passenger door from the inside.

My question is, are there any serviceable or replacement parts in the door release or am I resigned to replacing the entire mechanism?
